Position Summary: Primary responsibilities for this faculty appointment include clinical services, research, teaching, and advising master's level graduate students in the Division of Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling. We are especially interested in candidates with clinical skills to work in the UNC Healthcare System. Our needs for teaching expertise are in the following areas: Job Placement/Vocational Rehabilitation, Practicum and Internship Supervision, Tests & Measurements, Substance Abuse and Co-Occurring Disabilities. The Division of Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling curriculum includes specializations in developmental and psychiatric disabilities. The Assistant/Associate Professor position requires a focus in rehabilitation counseling practice across a range of disability and multicultural populations, but with specific attention to one of these two areas.
Education Requirements: Require Doctorate (or ABD) in Rehabilitation Counselor Education, Counselor Education and Supervision, Rehabilitation Counseling, Counseling Psychology, Rehabilitation Psychology, or a closely related field.
Qualification and Experience: This appointment requires: Evidence of potential to secure grants from federal funding agencies. Successful experience supervising, mentoring, and teaching master's students in a rehabilitation/counseling or psychology program. Experience providing rehabilitation services to people with disabilities, preferably in a medical setting. CRC credential or eligibility to sit for the CRC exam (applicant must indicate status in the letter of application). Qualifications preferred for this appointment: Current CRC credential. Eligible for or current professional licensure as Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist. Record of publication and funded research. Experience serving persons with developmental and/or psychiatric disabilities. Experience with individuals across the spectrum of disabilities.
