Position Summary: The UNC Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Midwifery is seeking a certified nurse midwife (CNM) or advanced nurse practitioner (NP) for a permanent *part-time* faculty position at the Clinical Instructor rank. The position will be part of an established clinical midwifery practice of ten midwives. Primary responsibilities for this position include conducting postpartum rounds for a moderate to large population of low risk patients and responding to emergent inpatient obstetrical/postpartum events as needed. Educating patients on postpartum care, warning signs, follow-up and contraception will be the focus of this position. Additional responsibilities will include educating professional health care students and residents, developing educational and quality programs for postpartum care and participating in departmental and professional activities. This is a 30 hour/week position, with variable hours, including some weekends and holidays. Practice location is the UNC Women's Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC.

Education Requirements: A Bachelor's and Master's degree in Nursing are required, with certification in the specialty as required by North Carolina law.

Qualification and Experience: Must hold a current North Carolina nursing license, and approval to practice as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) or nurse practitioner (NP) in North Carolina (or have the ability to obtain this approval directly after being hired). One year of experience as a CNM or NP is preferred, but practitioners or new graduates with a strong maternal health background will be considered. Experience in a tertiary medical center and with EPIC are required. Bilingual competence in Spanish is highly desirable. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
