WFSU-TV/The Florida Channel
The Florida Channel - located in Tallahassee, FL - produces 24/7, year-round coverage of all three branches of state government. Programming includes gavel-to-gavel coverage of a wide variety of state proceedings, along with daily news programs, documentaries, public affairs programs and segments covering issues of interest and importance to all Floridians. The programming is delivered statewide by satellite and is also available on the Internet.
This position will serve as a web archivist for legislative committee weeks and session coverage. Duties include scheduling the recording and broadcast of webstreams; monitoring webstreams for audio and video quality; editing, tagging and adding closed captions to recorded content. Other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalency and five years of related work experience.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with equipment used for web streaming and archiving: to include web encoders, video editing software, and file transfer software.
Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Possess excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
Computer literate and able to learn specialized software quickly.
Detail-oriented and able to multi-task in a fast-paced broadcast environment.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule and during Spring Break.
Approximate employment dates are December 11-20, 2018 resuming January 2- May 3, 2019; minimum 30 hours weekly.
This is an OPS/temporary Job.
Ability to work Monday through Friday, 7:30 am - 6:30 pm. Some flexibility needed as hours may vary. Overtime work might be required. Must be able to work Spring Break.
Criminal Background Check
This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check. The background check will be conducted as authorized and in accordance with University Policy 4-OP-C-7-B11.
