Educational and Experience Requirement
Bachelor’s degree in related field. Four years of experience in communications, marketing, public relations or related areas. Experience with web development, graphic design, digital media, communication strategies, and recruitment activities in higher education organizations preferred.
A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Nature & Purpose of Position
Assists the Dean and other managerial staff in increasing college visibility by directing communications, marketing, public relations, website development, and strategic recruitment activities for the College of Education.
Primary Responsibilities
Directs and monitors the development and implementation of the College of Education Communication plan and strategies. Provides vision, management, and expertise in communication, website development, digital marketing, partnership development, and recruitment strategies. Assists college administration with implementing robust communication strategies for marketing, public relations, website development, and strategic student recruitment for the College of Education, including digital media. Develops and maintains partner relationships with other educational organizations and professional organizations. Establishes and maintains cross-campus relationships to support the University and College strategic plan.
Supports communications and outreach with community liaisons, alumni, potential students, educational partners, professional organizations, and agencies. Supports dissemination of information to students, faculty, staff, and potential graduate and undergraduate students. Ensures website is current and appealing to outside stakeholders. Maintains an active social media presence for the college. Develops external written materials and acquires promotional items. Supervises the Coordinator for Undergraduate recruitment. Ensures maintenance of current content for the College of Education website, chairs the website committee, and facilitates communication with the College of Education and University regarding the college website. Maintains active public relations and communications in physical and digital spaces, including professional social media sites. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requires strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Must take initiative in handling a variety of communications projects and interacting with administrators, faculty, staff, alumni, and external organizations and programs.
This position may require work in the evening or on weekends as needed by the department.
This position may be designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA).
