The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine is seeking applicants for a full time (1.0 FTE) Instructor or above to work as an optometrist in our growing academic ophthalmology practice at The University of Colorado Health Eye Center (UCHEC). The position will provide outpatient medical and perioperative management of ophthalmic disorders, routine eye screening, visual acuity testing, and refraction at UCHEC and affiliate sites of practice within the Denver metropolitan area.
This position will be responsible for direct patient care at The University of Colorado Health Eye Center (UCHEC) and UCD affiliates in the medical and perioperative management of ophthalmic disorders, routine eye screening, visual acuity testing, and refraction. May prescribe and fit contact lenses and eyeglasses. Provides pre and postoperative management of cataract and refractive surgery patients.

Qualified candidates will have completed an approved residency program in optometry and must have a Colorado medical license or be eligible. Knowledge and proficiency in routine eye screening and medical and perioperative management of common ophthalmic disorders is required as is the ability to provide pre and postoperative management of cataract and refractive surgery patients.
OD with approved residency training in optometry.
Previous work experience in an academic or hospital based healthcare environment is preferred.
