The Office of Financial Planning and Analysis (OFP&A) is currently seeking a Senior Director, Budgeting and Financial Planning to join their team. OFP&A projects, allocates, and manages the central resources available for operating and capital expenditures. OFP&A partners with schools and units to guide the budgetary process. Their aim is to provide financial planning that informs executive management decision making and the strategic planning process.
Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, Financial Planning and Analysis, the Senior Director is responsible for leading the annual budget development process. In this role, the Senior Director works closely with schools and units to review current activity, develop annual budgets and multi-year financial plans, as well as, provide analytical support during the fiscal year. The Senior Director leads a team of budget analysts and works closely with other members of OFP&A, as well as UVAFinance.
A Master's degree, or a Bachelor's degree with equivalent experience, in a relevant discipline with at least ten years of experience in increasingly responsible related positions, preferably in higher education is required. Experience in financial analytics, financial planning and modeling is also required.
Experience with Microsoft Office tools including Excel and other financial planning tools is essential.
Candidates must have strong working knowledge of fund accounting and budgeting. Candidates must also possess the ability to maintain trust and credibility, lead, manage and develop staff, work collaboratively with units across Grounds, provide sound decision support and think and act proactively. Superior oral and written communication skills, oriented towards detail, thoroughness and accuracy is essential. The ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight time-frames and simultaneously manage several projects is required.
