Position Details
The Health Behavior & Health Systems Department at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire a Research Scientist I to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:

* Experience with human subjects' applications and modifications; working with research participants.
* Strong organizational skills.
* Experience supervising and coordinating staff.
* Proficiency in programming online surveys.
* Basic computer software and database applications (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Access).
* Proficiency in data management and data analyses (zero-inflated regression, generalized linear mixed models, hierarchical linear modeling).
* Proficiency in SPSS, SAS, STATA, R, and/or Mplus.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Ability to work independently.
* Ability to multi-task and prioritize
* Ability to work with people with diverse backgrounds
* Plan and carry out project tasks with Principal Investigators and the research team.
* Team meetings; participant mail, email, and phone communications; participant recruitment.
* Access database; program online assessments.
* Conduct telephone and in person interviews with participants; human subjects; payments.
* Preparation of timely status reports and updates for the investigators.
* Manuscript preparation as co-author and first-author.
* Data management and statistical analyses; generate and utilize ready-to-use analytic datasets for statistical analyses and keep up-to-date records on manipulations of data and to assist with conducting analyses; writing statistical analyses sections, and preparing tables for local and national presentations and manuscripts. Supervising a Research Assistant.

Required Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following required qualifications:

* Ph.D. degree and one (1) year of related research experience.

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:

* Knowledge of drinking literature.
* Experience with ecological momentary assessment.
* Experience with web-based data administration.
* Experience with adolescent and young adult research participants.
* Experience with grant preparation and administration.
* Experience with writing NIH reports.
