Responsibilities
This is a full-time tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in the area of analytical chemistry, broadly defined.
The successful candidate will be expected to develop a vigorous, externally supported research program and to teach both undergraduate and graduate courses. Specific responsibilities will be assigned at the time of hire.
Qualifications
Successful candidates for the tenure-track Assistant Professor rank will possess at a minimum: (a) Doctoral from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization and postdoctoral training in a relevant field; (b) Clear trajectory of accomplishments in their field; (c) Expertise in mentoring undergraduates, graduate students, or postdoctoral fellows; (d) The ability to establish a research program; and (e) Demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.
Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor.

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is in the College of Arts and Sciences at Florida State University. The department is consistently ranked in the top 50 schools in the nation, and the analytical chemistry program is well known as one of the top in the nation. The environment is highly collaborative with faculty members who have intersecting research interests that include many aspects of basic and applied research. There are two chemistry buildings with ample space for research laboratories, in addition to machine, electronic, and glass shops. The National High Magnetic Field Laboratory is less that two miles from campus.

This is a Faculty position.
Criminal Background Check
This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check. The background check will be conducted as authorized and in accordance with University Policy 4-OP-C-7-B11.
