Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree in health care administration, public health, or project management preferred.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

At least three years' experience in research administration and project management preferred.

Familiarity with radiology processes and procedures preferred.

Experience with developing and managing research quality assurance programs preferred.

The incumbent must have good communication skills as he or she will interface with other departments within the hospital, clinics, and referral areas as necessary to identify, collect and disseminate patient, subject, and protocol information.

The incumbent must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work independently using initiative and good judgment.

Prefix determined by years of relevant work experience. A minimum of seven years' experience required for appointment at the senior level.

A criminal and/or caregiver background check will be conducted.

Position Summary:

The UW Department of Radiology Medical Imaging Research Support (MIRS) group focuses on providing guidance and assistance to UW research teams interested in using medical imaging as an outcome measure for their research protocols. Services provided by MIRS include pre- and post-award grant services, protocol development, imaging services, nursing and research coordination services, internal auditing and data and safety monitoring.

The Research Coordination/MIRS Program Manager will provide project management to the MIRS group to ensure all steps of the MIRS process are completed. The Research Coordination/MIRS Program Manager will also provide oversight to the Department of Radiology study coordinators and nurse coordinators to ensure that a coordinator is assigned to each study to help facilitate successful study start-up, subject accrual and ongoing study support throughout the project cycle of the study.
