Degree and Area of Specialization:

Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Immunology or related field required. Candidates with advanced degrees will also be considered.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

- Minimum one year of research experience is required
- Strong background in molecular biology, microbiology, and/or biochemistry
- Prior experience with bacterial genetics, host-microbe interactions, and protein chemistry is preferred.
- Experience with large data/statistical analysis and basic programming is a plus

Position Summary:

The Huynh lab studies the molecular mechanisms of bacterial pathogenesis ( We currently investigate signaling mechanisms mediated by small nucleotides second messengers, which are essential to bacterial growth and virulence. Our work is multidisciplinary, and we have strong working relationships with many research groups on campus. This is an excellent opportunity for you to learn different techniques bacterial physiology, protein chemistry, mass spectrometry, and immunology. The ideal candidate is driven, creative, detail-oriented, and flexible in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Information:

This is a fixed-term terminal appointment with a guaranteed length of 12 months from date of hire (i.e., January 10, 2019 - January 10, 2012). This appointment may be extended up to a maximum of 24 months as a fixed-term terminal appointment depending on satisfactory performance, business need, and funding. This appointment may become renewable depending on funding.
