Department Overview
Libraries Technology and Computer Operations (Lib TACO) provides IT solutions and support for the UNT Libraries. This includes staff workstations and software, student computer lab workstations, printing, esports & gaming, design and maintenance of lab facilities, makerspace initiatives, electronic resources, and things yet to come.

Job Description
The University Library Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Sr Cross Functional IT Support Specialist to join our team.

As a Sr. Cross Functional Specialist in the Lib TACO department, you will work a variety of technical problems and craft solutions to requests and issues. Most duties will revolve around desktop management & support.

Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
* Provide 2nd-tier support for library computer systems and resources.
* Lifecycle management of PCs running Windows, macOS, and Linux.
* Create and maintain Windows and Linux servers in support of departmental duties.
* Create and maintain documented maintenance procedures for systems under your purview.
* Troubleshoot and resolve issues with software systems.
* Develop scripts or programs to automate routine tasks or solve problems.
* Maintain and manage print queues for the Student Computer Lab & Library Staff.

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess an Associate's Degree in related field and four years of related computing work experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:

* Prior experience with specific systems, equipment and software may be specified as needed by department.
* Knowledge of principles of computing and communications networks, and characteristics of computing hardware and software used in distributed environment.
* Ability to operate computer keyboards and to install computer hardware.
* Ability to assimilate, retain and utilize technical and applications-oriented information.

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:

* Indepth knowledge using & managing macOS.
* Familiarity with Windows 10 workstations in enterprise environments and their management concepts. (Active Directory, GPO, etc...)
* Working knowledge of the Linux operating system as a server and workstation.
* Skills scripting with BASH, Powershell, and/or Python.
* Familiarity with configuration management systems and frameworks such as JAMF, SCCM, SaltStack, Ansible, etc...
