Job Description Summary:

The George Washington Department of Communications & Marketing is seeking a Web Developer, Drupal responsible for the back-end development and maintenance. An active member of the Drupal community this incumbent understands the platform, and is committed to the success of the School of Medicine and Health Sciences (SMHS) Drupal CMS environment. This position will report to the Assistant Director, Web Services.

Oversee the SMHS and Health Sciences Drupal CMS back-end development, maintenance, and development of new features and functionality
Establish and guide the SMHS website's architecture
Ensure high-performance and availability
Maintain all technical aspects of the Drupal CMS
Work collaboratively with the web services team and the SMHS community to ensure an effective, visually appealing, and intuitive implementation.
Performs other work related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
Drupal experience (especially D7)
Experience of developing web systems with Drupal and other PHP-based implementations in a LAMP environment
Experience in Advanced site-building including deep familiarity with Drupal multisite, Drupal Modules CTools, Views, Features, and Feature Overrides.
Experience using Drush commands, maintenance scripts, and a web-based repository such as GitHub
Experience building responsive websites using Drupal CMS, HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3, and JavaScript/jQuery, and RSS technologies
Knowledge of PHP, PHP files and theme functions, Drupal theme layer, Apache, MySQL and the Linux Shell
Ability to design enterprise Drupal solutions, with consideration for data, display, and information architecture, and to create RSS feeds for Digital Signage
Thorough understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (e.g. Requirements, Design, Development, Testing and Maintenance)
Experience with Varnish, Memcache, and other site-enhancing technologies.
Experience using and maintaining Acquia Search and in the Acquia Cloud environment
Experience debugging and analyzing sever and application performance using New Relic
Experience with Pingdom or other site monitoring service
Experience with Google Analytics, campaign management, and tagging

Typical Hiring Range $53,200 - $82,300 How is pay for new employees determined at GW?
