Pharmacy Senior Technician/UKHC

Job description



Assist pharmacist(s) in obtaining prior to admission medication histories; assess patient risk factors for adherence to prescribed regimens; review/enter patient allergies and triage medication related problems identified via communication with pharmacists, other providers, or patients. Assists pharmacist(s) with M2B prescription processing and distribution to patients/families within the Chandler or Good Samaritan hospital(s). Collects prescriptions and patient information required to process prescriptions under the direction of a pharmacist; delivers medications to patients; collects payment using a point of sale system, use of multiple computer devices and programs for adequate documentation are required.

Physical Requirements

May include standing for greater than five hours at a time and possibly walking several miles per day, as well as the ability to reach items above shoulder-level and lift up to 25 lbs.



Shift

Nights (7 days on/7 days off); weekends and holidays required in rotation.



Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

This position requires dependability and the ability to prioritize. The successful candidate must be reliable and demonstrate excellent attention to detail.

Preferred Education/Experience

Two years of previous work experience (in a related field). Prefer previous pharmacy tech experience or work/classes in medical field. Hired candidate must maintain state licensure in good standing. Must have two years of full-time (or pro-rated) pharmacy technician experience and must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
