Job description



The Assistant Chief Nursing Assistant/Informatics is responsible for designing and executing new life cycle systems which may include: planning, workflow analysis, validation and implementation across the enterprise. This position will lead the continued evaluation of existing and developing technology, such as the Electronic Health Record systems, against proven standards in functionality, design, continuity of care and implications of workflow efficiency and cognitive workflows in the provision of patient care. The Assistant Chief Nursing Assistant/Informatics position will collaborate with clinical user community teams, other UK HealthCare Information Technology teams and UK HealthCare/UK HealthCare Information Technology leadership exhibiting trust, cooperation, integrity and strong negotiation skills. This position requires a Kentucky Registered Nursing license and an ANCC Informatics Nursing Board certification prior to hire date.

Physical Requirements

The physical requirements of this position include: handling of light-weight objects up to 10 pounds, as well as stand, walk and sit for long periods of time.



Shift

Primarily Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM with occasional evenings, nights, weekends and/or holidays per departmental needs.



Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

The ideal candidate will possess experience working with large and complex processes; extensive clinical skills professional and nursing theory/practice; strong leadership and management skills; have the ability to lead and facilitate projects, taking into account divergent demands while managing scope and timelines; demonstrates strong analytical and qualitative research experience; exceptional planning and organizational skill; effective written and verbal communication skills; and be able to lead diverse groups towards University-focused objectives.

Preferred Education/Experience

Doctoral degree in Nursing or related field preferred. Previous experience and demonstrated leadership and management ability with a minimum of five years' experience in managing multiple demands, initiatives, units or a large complex system.
