Primary Function of Organization Unit: Established in 2007, NC State University's Institute for Advanced Analytics is a recognized leader in graduate analytics education, an emerging field that includes data management, mathematical and statistical methods for data modeling, and techniques for data visualization in support of enterprise-wide decision-making. The Institute's core mission is to prepare students for the challenging task of deriving insight from vast quantities of structured and unstructured data. Its flagship program is the Master of Science in Analytics (MSA), an innovative and immersive professional science master's degree of ten months duration.

Essential Job Duties: The Technical Communications Coordinator collaborates with the Technical Communications Specialist to develop and provide instruction that improves students' professional and technical writing and speaking skills, and increases the communications support available for MSA students. - Assists students (individually and in groups) with the use of American business English in both writing and speaking; - Helps develop creative and individualized plans for strengthening students' communication skills; - Conducts one-on-one and group sessions with students with the goal of improving writing skills and assists with the review of all career documents (including LinkedIn profiles, student autobiographical summaries, internal and external resumes, cover letters, and other materials); - Assists with review of reports and presentations:

Minimum Education/Experience: * Master's degree in English and Composition or related field * Teaching experience in composition and professional writing

Department Required Skills: * Experience teaching writing at the university level; * Outstanding editing and proofreading skills; * Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; * Experience working with international students; * Enthusiasm for working in a data-driven, high-performing organization; * Strong interpersonal skills including empathy and flexibility to work effectively with diverse audiences; * Initiative and an ability to work proactively, both independently and as part of a team; * Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities, projects, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment; * Ability to conduct oneself with the highest level of professionalism with a strong student-focused orientation; * Understanding of educational privacy law (FERPA) and ability to maintain confidentiality; * Attention to detail

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: * Experience working with professional science master's students in an integrated curriculum encompassing professional and technical skill development
