Job Description: Loyola University Chicago (LUC), College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Fine and Performing Arts (DFPA) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Fine Arts specializing in Visual Communication. This position would begin in the academic year 2019-2020. The DFPA houses the Fine Arts, Music, and Theatre Programs, which together service approximately 400 undergraduate majors and minors. The Fine Arts program offers a Bachelor's degree to approximately 130 undergraduate arts majors in art history, ceramics, drawing and painting, photography and visual communication. Three, fulltime faculty serve approximately 100 visual communication majors and minors as well as students in Loyola's School of Communication. For more information about the Fine Arts at Loyola, please visit its website at The successful candidate should possess the ability to teach all levels of the department's 15 course major, including courses emphasizing theory and practice as well as technical courses. The ability to teach a survey course in the history of graphic design would be an asset.

Qualifications: MFA in Visual Communication from an accredited college or university is required, Minimum of three years professional experience in the field and three years college-level teaching experience.
