Assistant Professor of Nursing (Family or Adult Gerontology)

General Summary of Responsibilities: The School of Nursing seeks application for a tenure track faculty position. Responsibilities include classroom teaching, clinical teaching and laboratory instruction at the undergraduate and graduate level; professional service; scholarship; and a commitment to the enhancement of all programs within the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. The College of Nursing and Health Sciences provides programs of study at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The Bachelor of Science degree is granted in Exercise Physiology, Athletic Training and Nursing. The graduate degrees include the Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, and Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner as well as a Master of Science in Exercise Physiology. A minor in Nutrition is also provided. The Nursing program is accredited by the CCNE. Faculty members are actively involved in research, service, scholarship, and professional development. Required Qualifications: Doctorate in Nursing or closely related field with certification as a Family or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner with experience teaching nursing in an undergraduate and graduate nursing program. Current active unrestricted Georgia registered nursing license or the ability to be licensed in Georgia. A demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, as well as scholarship.
