ABOUT AIC
American International College is a private, coeducational institution of higher education located on a 70+ acre campus in Springfield, Massachusetts. The campus has 42 buildings on two sites approximately 1/2 mile apart with a total of approximately 660,000 gross square feet. Included in the inventory of buildings are student residences for a resident population of 900 students. Founded in 1885, the College has 3700 graduate and undergraduate students. AIC offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs through the Schools of Business, Arts and Sciences; Health Sciences; and Education. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Work with other program area coordinators and the college administrative team to inspire that degree programs are nationally recognized as innovators in the field. Work with faculty, administrators, and staff to support a research and scholarly agenda consistent with expectations. Maintain effective engagement of faculty in continuous improvement efforts,aiding in curriculum development and insuring that all levels of curriculum review for the College and departmental learning goals are met.
  • Facilitate the operation of the program through regular adjunct and faculty meetings. Travel to course sites at least twice per eight-week session for class observations. Work collaboratively with regional administrators in preparation for adjunct professional development, technical assistance and demonsntration of best practices. May teach six credit hours per year.
  • Co-advise with assigned academic program advisors to ensure accurate program matriculation. Communicates with teacher candidates and adjucnt faculty as necessary. Serves as liaison, with the regional administrators for evaluation and essessment. Leads the program to establish both short- and long-term goals. Utalize assessment results to promote continuous program improvement.
  • Address questions and concerns from students, faculty, and staff with the expectation of resolution of issues at the progam level. Where applicable, possess the ability in determining when the matter should move to a different level.
  • Other duties as assigned by the dean (e.g., serving on comittees, reporting, depratmental representation).

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Required Degree(s): Ph.D. or Ed.D. is required (ABD considered).
  • Preferred Field of Expertise: Previous experience in an academic supervisory capacity/leadership position and strong supervisory skills

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities * Demonstrated content and pedagogical knowledge; will be to facilitate interdisciplinary approaches to funded research, enhance interprofessional education and practice, and foster integrated degree programs. * Previous experience in an academic supervisory capacity/leadership position. * Familiarity with the program review and accreditation process. * Ability to set goals, plan strategies, organizes resources and executes work under conditions of excessive stress. Demonstrated ability to administer programs. * Excellent written and oral communication skills.

WORK SCHEDULE
This is a full-time, exempt, benefited position. Normal office hours are 8:30 am - 4:30 pm with one hour unpaid lunch. The hours of work are flexible to the needs of the department. Flexible schedule required for evening and weekend support during key faculty support times. It may involve some travel.
