Working Title Senior Web Developer (ITS4)
Eastern Washington University is seeking a Senior Web Developer in the Department of Marketing and Communications. This position brings a user-experience approach in order to plan, create and implement
engaging, customer-focused websites for all university stakeholders. Working with other developers, designers, content providers and students, the senior web developer
achieves business goals by developing baseline themes for university-wide clients using WordPress CMS with Advanced Custom Fields.This position meets with stakeholders to ensure ongoing satisfaction, and sets client expectations through
project management and clear communication. The senior web developer is responsible for educating clients and stakeholders on the benefits of a defined requirements process, and may supervise
lower-level staff and student workers.
The ideal candidate will have five or more years of web development industry experience , and is comfortable with full-stack programming, understanding all layers of software development. The candidate must also excel in communication, organization and creativity, with a keen ability to multitask.

- Bachelor's degree -OR- five plus years of web development industry experience
- Two or more years of experience developing WordPress custom themes
- Demonstrated understanding of the design-to-development process
- Demonstrated knowledge of the software development lifecycle
- Candidate must demonstrate interest, ability and/or experience promoting universal accessibility, cultural competency and/or diversity
- Comfort with full-stack programming, understanding all layers of software development
- Two or more years of supervisory experience
- Two or more years of project management experience
- Experience with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) for WordPress
- Experience working in higher education or the public sector
