Required Qualifications: As per Civil Service Guidelines. Must have taken and passed the specific job related Civil Service Exam and be reachable on the appropriate Civil Service list. 70.1 Transfers are encouraged to apply. 70.1 Transfer Candidates must have been appointed from a Civil Service List and have served permanently in an appropriate title(s) for one year. Transfers must be within two salary grades.

Preferred Qualifications: Cash handling experience. Customer service experience. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Student Financials experience. PeopleSoft experience or similar system. Parking rules and regulations experience.


Brief Description of Duties: This position will serve as a cashier at the customer service window in the Bursar's Office.

  • Accepts currency/coin/checks/Credit Card payments from students, departments, and the general public.
  • Enters payment information and identification on terminals; issues receipts for payments and deferments via on-line systems.
  • Prepares daily cash reports and adding machine tapes, counts coin and currency. Prepares deposit slips for various University bank accounts.
  • Assists in the reconciliation of deposits if there is a discrepancy between the session termination and total dollar amount collected. Remote deposit of checks.
  • Issues parking permits to students and employees properly according to status.
  • Other duties or projects as assigned.

Special Notes: This is a full-time position, 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. FLSA Nonexempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Mandatory rehire roster candidates have preference.


The selected candidate must successfully clear a background investigation.
