Location: 445 Brackett

Description The Department of Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences (EEES) at Clemson University invites applications for a full-time position at the Lecturer level commencing with the Fall 2019 semester. The initial appointment will be for a period of one year with possible renewals based on annual reviews.

The successful candidate is expected to teach up to six courses per academic year in the Geology degree program and in support of the Department's minor in Environmental Science and Policy. Preference will be given to candidates who can teach introductory courses in physical geology and the associated laboratory, Earth resources, and environmental science and policy.

The ideal candidate will be prepared to mentor undergraduate student research in geology through Clemson University's Creative Inquiry Program (www.clemson.edu/centers-institutes/watt/creative-inquiry/index.html).

Experience with and/or interest in recruiting and outreach activities for the Geology program will be reviewed favorably; commitment to these activities have the possibility of receiving up to one course release per year. Opportunities exist for collaboration within the uniquely interdisciplinary environment of the EEES Department, as well as with colleagues in other departments at Clemson University. Qualifications The successful candidate will have earned a PhD in Geosciences, Geological Engineering, or a closely related discipline. Candidates who can demonstrate strong teaching skills and have experience instructing both introductory and specialized undergraduate geology courses are preferred.
