Nurse Infection Control

Job description

Provides infection prevention and control expertise for Healthcare-Associated Infection (HAI) Prevention Program in prevention and elimination of HAIs. Plan/conduct educational training for healthcare facilities on surveillance using the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)/National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) definitions, implementing evidence based practices. Reviews medical records to determine accuracy and completeness of surveillance data in healthcare facilities, create validation report. Consult and collaborate with facility level administrators, infection prevention staff, federal, state, regional, & local health department partners. Assist in outbreak investigations. Other duties as assigned.
