Quality Assurance Technician

Job description



The College of Agriculture, Food & Environment Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory seeks a Quality Assurance Technician. The Quality Assurance Technician assists the Quality Assurance/Quality Control Manager in further developing the Quality System. The position also assists in drafting and creating documents, audits, investigation of non-conformances, customer complaints, and analyze data. This position will also assist with QC and QA in Toxicology. This person will perform or assist sections in timer verification/calibration, centrifuge calibration/verification and other tasks as directed by QA. The job is located at the Coldstream Research Campus on Newtown Pike.

Physical Requirements

Sitting for long periods of time; ability to lift up to 50lbs; requires some standing and walking through the shift; and exposure to zoonotic agents, hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste.



Shift

Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM; and occasional weekend or after 5:00 PM.



Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

Strong computer skills - Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc), Adobe Pro, Q-pulse, Laboratory Information Management System.



Does this position have supervisory responsibilities?
No

Preferred Education/Experience

Experience in veterinary lab and/or clinical lab. Experience with veterinary terms and procedures (1-2 years). Quality Assurance, Quality System, corrective action and auditing experience. Driver's License preferred.
