Job Description:

SUMMARY

The Specialist, Talent Acquisition manages College-wide Talent Acquisition functions tailored to the needs of specified employee groups to attract and retain top employee talent. Supports and contributes to the achievement of departmental objectives by proactively addressing the College's Talent Acquisition issues, College staffing needs, and various projects as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Partners with assigned client base to meet talent needs by managing the entire hiring process to achieve optimal results including creating recruitment plans, sourcing applicant pools, proactively recruiting applicants, screening and assessing candidates, negotiating offers and on-boarding.

Builds relationships with leadership and employees to proactively address Talent Acquisition needs as they relate to the employees of the College.

Serves as the primary point of contact for clients and partners with other HR functions to proactively satisfy their needs.

Provides advice and counsel to assigned client base while taking into account the uniqueness of their specific employee group and each situation while adhering to the current policies and best practices of the College.

Effectively analyzes, interprets, and explains laws, rules, regulations and union contract information where applicable.

Manages time to fill and monitors quality of hire metrics to ensure positions are filled in a timely manner and with the best candidate for the position.

Collaborates with Talent Acquisition team to ensure client and candidate staffing needs are met and that excellent service is consistently provided.

Provides consultation and serves as a resource to client base regarding performance management, compensation administration, job design and organizational effectiveness.

Contributes to the departmental strategic planning process and the completion of related projects.

Completes special projects and miscellaneous tasks as assigned

Performs other duties as assigned.

The work is performed in a normal, professional office environment;

The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated; Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the duties of the job and will perform repetitive motions with hands/fingers using a computer mouse and keyboard to type. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, books, etc.;

Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree. Significant related experience may substitute for education.

Minimum of five (5) years of Talent Acquisition experience.

Demonstrated experience effectively making decisions that have major implications on the management and operations within a department.

Demonstrated effectiveness in a role requiring dynamic and abstract problem solving methods in adaptive situations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master's degree.

SPHR/PHR certification.

Demonstrated experience in a large, complex and dynamic organization.

Demonstrated experience in a bargaining unit environment.

Demonstrated experience in a higher education environment.
