Boston University is seeking a Business Analyst II within the Information Services and Technology (IS&T) Project Management Office. This individual will primarily be focused on projects in the infrastructure area (storage, systems, collaboration technologies, cloud technologies, etc.). This position is part of a diverse project team to help support strategic goals of the University. The Business Analyst II is responsible for discovering, validating, documenting and communicating business processes and requirements for medium to large projects. The BA facilitates requirements gathering and business process re-engineering with large groups of clients typically from one or two domains. The BA is an integral part of project teams and responsible for understanding and representing the client's requirements throughout the project lifecycle.


The ideal candidate will enjoy working on a variety of projects with teams of people from across different disciplines within IS&T and with our clients. Specific requirements are:

  • Has experience in requirements elicitation, process re-engineering and creating and maintaining project documentation
  • Has worked in environments on technical projects, with project teams consisting of technology architects, engineers and developers
  • Able to collaborate and think out of the box when necessary to find new approaches to solving problems
  • Is an effective communicator - written, oral and with strong presentation skills
  • Able to juggle multiple projects concurrently
  • BA/BS required with 5-8 years of experience
  • BA training /BABOK certification a plus but not required
