Gear Up Coordinator

Under the general supervision of the GEAR UP Director, the GEAR UP Coordinator contributes to the implementation of core interventions and services for students and their families, as outlined in annual school-specific GEAR UP work plans, in accordance with US Department of Education regulations.

GEAR UP Coordinator provides educational outreach services to a minimum of 1,000 targeted grade 6-12 students in seven (7) Compton schools over a seven (7) year period. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: recruitment of participants, data collection, A-G course evaluation for participants, creation and presentation of various workshops, and assessment and execution of intervention strategies for student educational success.

The successful candidate will develop and sustain a strong relationship with students and their families that has been shown to foster student success.

Salary: Hourly $21.54
Total Hours: 8-5, M-F
2 Career Positions.
The primary worksite will be at assigned schools in the Compton Unified School District.
Frequent evening and weekend hours may be required.
Six week summer residential program may require GEAR UP Coordinator to live in-residence on-campus with housing provided.
Final candidate subject to background check.
