Director of Operations -Facilities Services
Gettysburg College is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Director of Operations to work in the Department of Facilities Services. This position is responsible for providing leadership of the facilities operations which includes management and oversight of the building and mechanical trades operations on campus, campus energy management as well as oversight of housekeeping services. Specific responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: maintaining campus utility infrastructure, Building Information Systems (Trane Systems), reviewing, updating the campus deferred maintenance list, and leading the Facilities Services department’s Safety and Compliance Committee. This position reports directly to the Executive Director of Facilities Planning and Management.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related Technical trade is preferred. A minimum of 7 years of increasing management responsibility in a multifaceted Facilities Operation is required. Knowledge of complex building systems, multiple skilled trades, preventative maintenance programs, building codes and workplace safety are also required. Addtionally, the successful candidate must be able to implement and evaluate department operations; lead, motivate and develop others; and effectively plan, delegate and supervise the work of subordinates. The Director must be able to work outside normal business hours.
