Classification Title: Administrative Support - Associate

Nature of Work    
This position will answer inquiries and provide information to the general public, current on-campus residents, customers, visitors, and other interested parties regarding living on campus. This position will answer basic questions about living on campus and getting an assignment as well refer all other callers/customers to the appropriate professional staff member to handle their need.
This person sits in our front office of Housing and Residence Life and is the first person to greet every visitor to our office. This position handles a very high volume of email, walk-in traffic, and telephone calls and will stay very busy during every the day. This person often has another person or student working along-side them to maintain the incoming traffic.

Required Qualifications    
High school diploma and one year of administrative experience. Good computer skills, good organization skills, and the ability to work in a team environment.
The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand. The ability to speak clearly so others can understand you. The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
Proven experience using considerable independent judgment in making decisions and referring customers expeditiously to the right person.

Preferred Qualifications    
Experience in higher education, residence life, former student who lived in residence life.
Two years administrative experience.
Extremely strong administrative, customer service and clean communication abilities.
Experience with a personal computer to prepare correspondence, reports, charts, etc., to enter/retrieve/update information is an essential part of the work. Additionally, the ideal candidate should have at least two (2) years working experience with the University of West Georgia or similar setting, posses supervisory experience and have knowledge of Banner. Prefer knowledge of office practices, processes, and computer software programs. Candidate should have thorough knowledge of BANNER and scheduling software.

Salary    $13.28/hrly minimum - $15.93/hrly midpoint

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions    
Person must be able to efficiently use email to respond to extremely high customer interaction. Person may be required to move supplies or deliveries up to 50 lbs around the office or across campus via vehicle to one of our Housing facilities. Person must be able to operate standard office equipment.
