Title IX Education & Response Coordinator

Basic Function

The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is seeking applications for a Title IX Education and Response Coordinator. Under the direction of the Vice President for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion will assist in advancement of the College mission, strategic plan, and overall functions of the department by assisting with coordination of the delivery of sexual assault prevention to students. This includes assisting with the implementation of a bystander intervention programs, leading training sessions and education sessions both on and off campus. Additionally, this position will assist with the work in the Athletics Department regarding prevention and education efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities

In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidates will:
• Assist with the campus based committee consisting of students, staff and faculty.
• Assist with addressing disproportionately affected communities by developing, coordinating, and assessing prevention efforts that target risk factors, protective factors, and culturally competent responses to various marginalized communities.
• Assist with coordinating, developing, and managing universal and selected primary prevention programs for the campus community, including developing and providing ongoing awareness activities for all students and employees.
• Assist with organizing and developing theory-driven and evidence-based prevention and awareness programs and programs about sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, sexual harassment and stalking, and positive intervention.
• Assist with a bystander training program, such as GreenDot.
• Assist with developing campus-wide prevention and awareness events and exhibitions for Awareness Months, bystander programming, workshops, performances, awareness events, and trainings that effectively interact with persons of diverse socio-economic, racial/ethnic, international and LGBTQ+ populations.
• Provide advocacy services to students affected by sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, sexual harassment, and/or stalking.
• Serve as an on-call employee at times as assigned by Assistant Director and Title IX Coordinator to respond to inquiries 24/7 made by the College community.
• Recruit, train, and coordinate Peer Specialists each semester

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree preferred in public health, nursing, psychology, social work, or a related social or behavioral science.
• One (1) year of experience in:
o Prevention education and bystander intervention programs addressing discrimination, sexual misconduct, relationship violence, stalking, bullying on the basis of sex or gender, and issues related to diversity, and equity
o Researching, developing, implementing and documenting training
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered
• Ability to interpret federal and state equal opportunity and non‐discrimination laws and regulations, including Title IX and others
• Ability to build relationships and establish collaborative partnerships across the institution and peer institutions
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive situations with diplomacy and excellent judgment and to act calmly and objectively
• Ability to use a personal computer effectively for word processing, maintaining records, and scheduling
