Curriculum & Assessment Manager
The curriculum and assessment manager will be responsible for educational and operational duties related to the planning, development and implementation of the pre-doctoral curriculum for the Office of Academic Affairs. This position will work with faculty to evaluate and improve the methods of curriculum delivery, oversee the facilitation of the electronic curriculum, and work with members of the Dental Education and Outcome Assessment committees to evaluate and update the curriculum. The curriculum and assessment manager is responsible for exam and assessment administration within the curriculum and ongoing quality improvement for the student assessment system. This position will work closely with instructional faculty through the Office of Academic Affairs to ensure that all course materials are available online, and provide support for students, faculty and staff to ensure ease of use of the electronic curriculum and testing systems and troubleshoot issues.
1. Gather and analyze data and prepare reports related to the curriculum (learning environment surveys, course evaluations, exam reports, alumni surveys, etc.) for analysis by various committees, including but not limited to the Committee on Dental Education and Outcome Assessment. Ensure that course syllabi and learning objectives are linked to the school’s competency assessment plan. Assist the Associate Dean for Affairs with the mechanics of curriculum development. Support the Committee on Dental Education. (30%)
2. Support the quality assessment initiative to increase the relevancy of curriculum, exams and assessments for our students. Gather, evaluate and assess data, and make recommendations for improvements. Oversee the student electronic assessment system. Monitor student assignment submissions. Work with information technology to correct any technical issues from faculty and students regarding exams and assessments. Assist with National Board Dental Exam preparation process. (25%)
3. Provide ongoing assistance with planning and implementation of curriculum-based technology in instructional programs. Educate students, faculty and staff regarding the use of the electronic curriculum database. Implement the new learning management system (LMS) and ExamSoft online testing software. Educate and assist faculty, students and staff in utilizing LMS and ExamSoft, and communicate with the university regarding system/software issues. (20%)
4. Coordinate and publish School of Dental Medicine academic calendar and class schedules. Collect syllabi and course materials for the electronic curriculum database and manage content of the learning management system. Oversee room assignments. (10%)
