Job Description: The Division of Natural Sciences and Engineering invites applications for a nine-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor (Physical Chemistry) position effective August 2019. Areas of interest are physical chemistry, biophysical chemistry and/or computational chemistry. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate chemistry courses for majors and non-majors, develop a scholarly research program involving undergraduate students, advise undergraduate students, and participate in service (internal as well as external). The Division awards an ACS-Certified Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, a non-ACS-Certified Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, and a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry. The Division maintains an array of modern instrumentation including Bruker 400 MHz NMR spectrometer with an autosampler, Nicolet iS50 FTIR spectrometer with ATR-FTIR accessories, Shimadzu QP2010SE GCMS, Shimadzu LC-20AB HPLC with PDA/fluorescence detection systems, Jasco FP-8600 spectrofluorometer, Perkin-Elmer Lambda 750 UV/Vis/NIR spectrometer with 60-mm integrating sphere accessory, TA Q50 TGA, and TA Q20 DSC.

Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in Chemistry is required at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry, Biophysical Chemistry, or Computational Chemistry.
