Position Summary
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Villanova University welcomes applications for a continuing non-tenure track position in Statistics that begins in Fall 2019, at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor. The teaching load for the position is 12 credit hours per semester. We have a current need for a faculty member to teach multiple sections of business statistics. There is also the opportunity to teach other introductory and advanced undergraduate or graduate courses in Statistics. Our department offers an undergraduate Minor in Statistics and an MS in Applied Statistics. In addition to teaching, our new colleague is expected to advise undergraduate Mathematics majors, attend department meetings, and participate in the life of the department. The University has recently strengthened its commitment to its continuing non-tenure track lines by approving a plan in which the person in this position would be eligible for promotions to Associate and Full Teaching Professor.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teach 12 credit hours (three or four courses) per semester.
  • Advise Mathematics majors.
  • Attend department meetings.
  • Participate in the life of the department.


  • Minimum Qualifications
    Master’s degree in Statistics or a related field. Strong teaching ability.

    Preferred Qualifications
    Ph.D. in Statistics or a related field. Exceptional teaching ability.
