Posting Summary:
The Democracy Initiative and the College and Graduate School of Arts and Sciences seeks highly qualified applicants for an Administrative Assistant. The incumbent will serves as the major administrative support to the Democracy Initiative and is responsible for assisting with daily duties, requiring an understanding of organization operations, procedures, and initiatives. The Administrative Assistant will support event planning activities, be responsible for tracking departmental travel funds, reporting, and processing reimbursements, complex travel arrangements, calendaring, and communication with faculty, administrators, Faculty Advisory Committee, and other committees (both standing and ad hoc) as convened by or on behalf of, the Co-Directors, among other constituents. The Administrative Assistant will provide program support with occasional guidance and advice from the Co-Directors and Chief of Staff.

A High School Diploma with at least one year in an administrative support position is required. A Bachelor's and/or High School Diploma with some college course work is preferred. Applicant must possess strong writing, editing skills, excellent grammar, punctuation, and spelling. The incumbent must have experience managing websites and social media. The ability to work independently with little oversight to prepare and compose correspondence; and create and maintain electronic files and records is required. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is required, specifically Word and Excel.
