Department Overview
The Office of Academic Affairs is responsible for supporting the activities and maximizing the performance of the educational, research and clinical programs of the University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC). The office strives to promote collaboration, interdisciplinary initiatives, shared services and economies of scale, while fostering the academic and professional strengths of the UNTHSC faculty and students.

The Senior Vice Provost for Clinical Affairs & Healthcare Partnerships will report to the Provost. The position's goal is to support clinical education in all of the UNTHSC schools, foster relationships with healthcare and hospital systems across Texas, and promote patient safety in alignment with the strategic vision of One University, built on values, defining and producing the providers of the future.

Position Details
The Senior Vice Provost for Clinical Affairs & Healthcare Partnerships leads a strategy for expanding healthcare partnerships, cultivating innovative clinical education and care delivery models, and fostering workforce development. This highly visible role will work collaboratively across the organization and externally to enhance the UNT Health Science Center, its schools and programs. The Senior Vice Provost will set the strategic direction, execute and oversee efforts to establish programmatic affiliations and relationships with healthcare providers across the continuum of care.

Representative Tasks:

* Create systems inclusive of HSC schools, college, and programs to foster contemporary practices, modern collaborative practice models, and graduate medical and residency education.

* Collaborate with executive leadership to develop new models of healthcare relationships that connect community providers and UNTHSC to support growth initiatives.

* Serve as key strategist to lead change through persuasion and influence resulting in transformative clinical affairs programs.

* Develop and maintain and effective network of relationships with executives and other integrated health systems that are responsible for services and business development.

* Consensus-build and facilitate action-oriented strategies.

* Foster growth and mentorship of aspiring clinical (physician and non-physician) leaders.

* Empower, motivate, and challenge UNTHSC staff in support of clinical affairs programming.

* Work collaboratively and coordinate the UNTHSC efforts in clinical education across the professional continuum to foster effective clinical training programs.

* Lead UNTHSC's collaborative efforts in developing services in support of Graduate Medical Education; lead contract negotiations in conjunction with Deans.

* Provide leadership to educational resource units as assigned by the Provost including annual goal setting, progress monitoring, and evaluation of success.

Required Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree and nine (9) years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
