I. JOB OVERVIEW

Job Description Summary:

The Health Sciences Division of the School of Medicine and Health Sciences is recruiting a team member to support the department of Clinical Research and Leadership (CRL), Emergency Health Services (EHS) program. The EMT Program Coordinator will contribute to the management of the EHS Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training program. Primary responsibilities include instructing students in the classroom and laboratory setting, overseeing textbook and classroom logistics, coordinating the teaching schedule of adjunct professors and instructors, maintaining the program's supplies and technical equipment, and ensuring the program's compliance and accreditation with state and national certification bodies.

Duties:
Academic Program Support:
- Instruct in both the lecture and practical lab for EHS programs (1002, 1040, 1041, 1058).
- Manage students within EHS program in the implementation of the criminal background check (CBC) and drug screen (DS)
- Manage and delegate EHS program CPR card certifications for EHS 1002 (sections 10, 11, 12).
- Work with Clinical Coordinator to move students onto their Fieldwork portion of their training.
- Observe and assist in mediating student issues, complaints, and grievances.
- Maintain and update all student and course records.

Facilities and Logistic Support:
- Purchase supplies and equipment for program and labs.
- Submit invoices, honorarium and other payment requests.
- Coordinate classroom and textbook requests for EHS lab courses.
- Coordinate and support adjunct instructors and lab assistance as needed per course.
- Maintain computer inventories and monitor expenses and budgets.
- Provide logistic support for EHS testing

Program Accreditation:
- Assist in the preparation of site certification for renewal of EMS Educational Institution status (DC review every 2-years).
- Improve and update curriculum to conform with the National and State (DC) standards as required for the operation of the program.
- Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a high school diploma/GED plus 3 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.

Current, active, and unrestricted state or national registration, certification, or licensure as an EMT or higher.

Prior work or volunteer experience as an EMT is highly desirable

Prior experience in EMS education is desirable.
Previous experience with a college or university-based EMS system is desirable.

Proficiency with Excel and Word, familiarity with travel and expense applications and ability to learn new computer applications quickly.

Strong organizational skills, with the ability to to work with minimal direction, by showing initiative and through problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication skills.
Superior customer service, professional demeanor and good interpersonal skills.
