Job Description
*Must be a current student at TAMUCT to apply and must be eligible for Federal Work Study Program and be able to provide approved Federal Work Study documentation. **

HOURS: Saturday or Sunday, Weekdays and 10-15 hours per week

JOB FUNCTION: Perform customer service and clerical duties necessary for the effective operation of the Circulation Department, as well as shelving and shelf-reading to maintain good order of the stacks.

SALARY: $8 per hour



A. Check materials in/out

B. Open and close the Library

C. Answer directional questions

D. Answer basic questions

E. Navigate Library Websites

F. Answer telephone

G. Issue library cards/update borrower records

H. Maintain hold shelf and course reserves

I. Keep statistics and record usage information as directed

J. Direct user complaints

K. Tasks and projects as directed or assigned


A. Shelve materials, in all formats

B. Read shelves

C. Search for missing materials

D. Shift materials in stacks

SECONDARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Fix paper jams in copiers and printers, monitor paper supply in copiers and printers, and replace toner in copiers and printers

• The physical ability to push and pull loaded book trucks and to lift 20 pounds
