Job description

Duties: Reporting directly to the Vice Provost for Education, serve in a leadership role in the development and interschool coordination of various educational initiatives as Chair of the Undergraduate Working Group; staff the Council of Undergraduate Deans for the Vice Provost handling all logistics for those committee meetings including minutes; act as liaison with schools and programs; handle outreach to student community; play a lead role in the Provost's office in the organization and ongoing compliance with the Middle States Accreditation process including managing annual reporting, preparing for routine reviews; perform analysis and collaborate on various issues related to graduate and undergraduate education; review current academic and student life policies and procedures; make recommendations on changes needed and lead implementation of changes; proactively contact other institutions to benchmark best practices as it relates to education; perform data analysis and research on education and make qualitative recommendations; directly oversee the Provost Office's role in external department, program and school reviews, including working with academic partners in the schools, external bodies and the President's Office as needed. Work collaboratively with analytic team on projects; write reports and correspondence; participate as an active member and lead representative for Vice Provost on University committees related to education and student life such as the Crisis Management Team; serve as lead representative and liaison for Vice Provost, and on occasion for the Provost, for key sensitive student matters; represent Vice Provost at meetings as needed. Collaborate with other key units in the Vice Provost for Education portfolio including Office of Student Conduct, College House and Academic Services, New Student Orientation & Academic Initiatives, Academic and Technology Planning; and be primary partner with Vice Provost for University Life units and the Library.

Qualifications: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree plus 5-7 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience; at least 5 years of related experience in higher education administration, researching and analyzing policies and procedures, student affairs and review of educational programming and planning; demonstrated excellent oral and written communications skills; strong data analysis and assessment skills; networking skills; experience in coordinating meetings and/or events; knowledge of Microsoft Office.
