RESEARCH INVESTIGATOR SR
Duties: Senior Research Investigator position available in the Dept. of Medicine/Division of Cardiology. The senior research investigator is a highly trained, experienced, motivated scientist expected to work independently in the laboratory to establish and execute key projects in addition to leading science management of other personnel and projects. We use genetic, biochemical, cell biology, and genomic approaches to investigate the basic mechanisms underlying cardiac development lymphangiogenesis. We use a variety of model systems including cell lines, stem cells, mice and zebra fish.
The primary function of this position is to design and perform experiments in the laboratory that continues to develop our research. Secondary functions of this position include providing organizational support for the laboratory and management of trainees. The senior research investigator is expected to participate in writing manuscripts, preparing presentations, establishing collaborations. The scientist will be responsible for design, optimization and implementation of complex experiments. Responsibilities include assay development and optimization relevant to whole genome transcriptional regulation, tissue culture work, and imaging. The senior research investigator will perform laboratory experiments including qPCR & RNA/ChIP-seq experiments, develop and optimize novel imaging techniques, culture various cell types, and troubleshoot experiments
Qualifications: Highly advanced professional discipline. Ph. D. or equivalent doctorate and 5 to 7 years of experience required.
