Supports the research mission of the University of Miami and the goals of the Office of Research Administration and is an integral partner in a sponsored programs administration team that will manage service and provide guidance and direction to specific UM departments, schools, and Centers/Institutes on all post award administration functions after awards are created to award close-out and works closely as a team with Pre and Post Award Administration to assure compliance with sponsor requirements while providing excellent service to principal investigators, researchers and administrators.

Assists the Exec Director in overseeing all elements of daily activity including responsibility for the assignment and processing of all work product within the office.

Monitors internal monitoring reports monthly to ensure compliance with federal guidelines.

Monitors team performance relative to accuracy, timeliness, customer service and other related metrics. Serves as the liaison between the faculty, academic departments and research centers, campus administrative units and a wide variety of federal, state, local and private funding agencies, ensures compliance with university, federal, state, and other agency regulations, policies, procedures, form and guidelines for the conduct of research.

Work collaboratively with team members, functional leaders, subject matter experts, and end users to suggest and implement automated and streamlined solutions.

Ensures high quality, efficient service to the research community, and provides assistance to Director in the planning and implementation of innovative customer service initiatives.

Provide support in creating and testing standard operating procedures, quality standards, automation, etc.

Evaluate current business methods, recommend improvements, and implement new specialized templates. As systems and processes evolve, continue to monitor and suggest strategies to improve quality and efficiency.
Create, analyze, and manage distribution of business intelligence analytics.

Maintains knowledge of current federal issues relating to grants and single audits of state, local government and non-profit organizations; interprets OMB (Office of Management and Budget) circulars for other agreements. Assists in the completion of all aspects of the annual OMB Circular A-133 audit report on federal awards.

Assists with development, modification, and instruction of research administration training for faculty and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors Degree in Business or related fields. Minimum 5 years experience in Sponsored Programs Administration or Related Field preferred.
