Nature of Work:
The Research Administrative Coordinator will serve as an assistant to the Director of the Center for Educational Opportunity (CEO) which is a university research center organized to promote research, innovation, and inquiry into issues relevant to K-12 education in order to improve products and services within the educational marketplace, especially for those living in fragile communities) and perform highly skilled administrative duties relating to the research and business operations of the center.
Training and Experience:
Bachelor's degree required (Master's degree preferred) and a minimum of five years administrative experience; or a combination of training and experience. Considerable knowledge of university and office/departmental/divisional functions and operations.
Knowledge of budget, Microsoft office, organizational skills, management policies and practices. Working knowledge of general principles of grant management. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational skills. Widely varied background in administrative and community service work
Illustrative Examples of Work:
*Assists center researchers in the identification of, and preparation of proposals to address, external funding opportunities to further the mission of the Center.
*Assists in the preparation of reports to external funding entities as well as peer-reviewed publications, working papers, presentations, or other products that may stem from Center projects.
*Monitors and tracks center's budget expenditures on multiple accounts to ensure compliance with university policy, as well as, grant or contract funding agency guidelines.
*Assists Director in the areas of personnel, budget, inventory, purchasing, research proposal development/submission and other areas as needed.
*Assists in conducting meetings for Advisory Board Members, local stakeholders and other groups as required under the various research/outreach projects conducted by the Center.
*Represents the University and Center in activities involving business, educational and private institutions, and government agencies?including communications with local, state, and national representatives, as directed.
*Disseminates relevant information concerning current research issues (local, regional, national, and international); research center publications; and university faculty and student working papers utilizing the center's website, email, or other social media.
*Prepares reports, memos, drafts, proposals, and promotional literature in the planning of various types of programs, conferences, and public relations events.
*Manages accounts with outside vendors.
*Maintains the center's library and archives.
*Assists in organizing annual community events.
*Performs other job-related duties as required.
