Teach undergraduate courses in music education including Brass Techniques; graduate courses in areas of expertise and other courses as needed. Maintain a record of scholarly/research activity, outreach programs, and make substantive professional contributions in the field of music education. Participate in university, community, and professional service. Duties may also include organizing student teachers, supervising student teachers and graduate-level capstone projects, commensurate with experience and expertise.Required Qualifications
Doctorate in music education. Success as a music educator with a minimum of three full-time years of secondary-level classroom band teaching experience is required. Appointment at the Associate Professor rank also requires a minimum 5 years of tenure-track college teaching experience.Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated knowledge and experience teaching brass techniques in a group setting; evidence of successful college teaching and experience supervising student teachers. Demonstrated record or potential for scholarly research and publication. Demonstrated record or potential for service to professional organizations.Application Procedures
