Position Description: The University of Northern Iowa's College of Education-Department of Curriculum and Instruction is seeking a tenure-track Associate Professor in the Division of Instructional Technology. The position begins August, 2019. Responsibilities of this position include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in instructional technology, conducting research, participating in department/university initiatives, developing curriculum, contributing to a collegial team environment, advising graduate students, and serving on Master's/Doctoral level committees.

Education Requirements: Earned doctorate in Instructional Technology or closely-related field required.
Required Qualification: Required qualifications include well-developed digital presence demonstrating thorough understanding of digital communications, tools, methods, resources; demonstrated leadership in instructional technology field; evidence of supporting learning through technology; knowledge of trends, current practices in education, including distance learning; demonstrated record of successfully designing and delivering online undergraduate and/or graduate courses; experience using diverse forms of instructional technology, including but not limited to: learning management systems, video conferencing, collaborative social networking tools, presentation software, authoring tools, video editing software; excellent oral, written, digital communication skills; ability to function effectively as a team member using all forms of digital communication; excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to collaborate with diverse individuals and demonstrated scholarly productivity and research capabilities. The successful candidate must have at least 3 years of PK-12 experience and at least 6 years of university teaching.
Desirable Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of how digital learning can move education beyond the limitations of current trends, practices, and models; experience using gaming, coding, virtual/augmented reality, and/or global collaboration in an educational setting; fluency in integrating pedagogy, technology and content knowledge; background using Quality Matters or other online design standards; demonstrated record of an innovation mindset; successful experience in training or professional development; and demonstrated involvement in professional organizations related to the field.
