The Wisconsin Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (WVDL) is a high volume diagnostic laboratory that provides a broad range of veterinary diagnostic testing services to approximately 2,500 clients. Labs are located both in Madison and in Barron.
This is a Lab Sample Control & Receiving Technician - Senior position in the Client Services Section of the Madison lab, responsible for the processing, assigning, data entry, and distribution of diagnostic specimens.
This is a critical position assuring the efficiency and accuracy of test reporting by the entire lab. This position requires knowledge of complex laboratory procedures and excellent organizational skills; extensive knowledge of overall laboratory operations including procedures, services, tests available and policies, enabling the effective and appropriate handling of samples and inquiries resulting in prompt and accurate information to WVDL clients; and excellent communication skills. This position works under the general supervision of the Client Services Supervisor.
Usual hours will be 7:45 am - 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday with occasional evening and weekend hours as needed.
