PhD degree (or foreign equivalent or higher) in Statistics or Biostatistics. Five years of experience in statistics or in biostatistics. Demonstrated proficiency with statistical methods and applications in clinical research. Competent in SAS programming language and R, SPSS or STATA desired. Expertise in state-of-the-art data manipulation and statistical methodology. Ability to manage multiple tasks and work with a multidisciplinary team. Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts, both written and oral, to non-statisticians

Brief Description of Duties: The Biostatistical Consulting Core, School of Medicine, Stony Brook University invites application for a full time position at the rank of senior biostatistician. This position offers excellent opportunities for academic scholarship, research leadership, collaboration with substantial statistical responsibilities and publication as well as skills in managing, programming and analyzing data from multiple sources. The successful candidate will work with investigators, research coordinators, medical students and post-graduate fellows to complete various translational and clinical research projects using a variety of statistical techniques. In addition, the successful candidate will get an opportunity to collaborate with other experienced statisticians and supervise one or more master level biostatisticians/junior trainees who are enrolled in Stony Brook University graduate programs.
