Degree and Area of Specialization:

Minimum of a Master's degree in Human Computer Interaction, Information Studies, Design, Computer Science or closely related field required.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

Experience working on UX, UI and other iterative design projects employing user research and testing required. Ability to lead students through an iterative cycles of ideation, prototyping and testing to develop UX design projects required. Knowledge of visual design basics and common patterns for the screen required. Knowledge of ideation methodologies to assist students in brainstorming new designs required. Expertise in prototyping methodologies and tools, both basic and advanced required. Knowledge of basic user testing methodologies to evaluate draft designs required. Previous teaching experience and experience in an online learning environment preferred.

License or certificate:

Position Summary:

Teach LIS 612, User Experience Design 2, in an online format during the spring semester of the 2018-2019 academic year.

Additional Information:

There is a possibility this position can be extended in subsequent semesters to teach one or more of the courses listed on this PVL, or similar courses within the department. This position may become renewable if there is a need for an ongoing appointment. This course employs the Adobe Design Suite including Adobe XD.
