PATIENT COORDINATOR PENN DENTAL MAIN LINE BERWYN

In the role as Patient Coordinator you will:
1. Professionally greet & assist patients by scheduling appointments, providing accurate information concerning dental practice charges, policies, & procedures. Register patients & prepare new charts. Consistently demonstrate concern & courtesy towards all; treat all people respectfully; take personal responsibility for correcting problems; follow up to ensure satisfaction with the level of service received. Flexibility with work schedule & hours based on business needs.
2. Accurately create schedules with the faculty practices meeting targeted daily goals. Schedule patients accurately & completely. Provide appointment alternatives when needed. Accurately gather patient demographics, insurance and/or financial information to establish patient's account, financial & billing data. Handle all insurance verification as well as pre and post appointment activity. Remain calm in stressful situations. Demonstrate pleasant disposition that puts people at ease.
3. Complete daily review of dental site appointment book for accuracy & completion of dental procedures including appointment book controls for maintaining productive & efficient patient flow. Respond to routine treatment & billing questions. Reconcile daily cash receipts. Collect co-pays & explain PDFP polices regarding co-pays required at the time of service. Foster a sense of collegial partnership & teamwork. Encourage cooperation and establish common ground.
4. Verify & maintain the accuracy of patient records including demographics, insurance, financial & guarantor data. Provide coverage & support based on business needs for the practice. Take responsibility for all work activities & personal actions; implement decisions that have been agreed upon; maintain confidentiality with sensitive information; acknowledge & learn from mistakes without blaming others; recognize the impact of one's behavior on others.
Qualifications: Previous working experience in dentistry profession with understanding of dental terminology, treatments and procedures is required. A High School Diploma or GED and 2 years to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
Excellent speaking voice; proper grammar, diction, enunciation and tone.

Working knowledge of dental management systems, preferably axiUm. Experience in consumer-side healthcare environment. Ability to handle complex and confidential information with discretion. Competency using a variety of computer applications, including MS Office suite.
