Academic Advisor Senior

Job description

This position plays a critical role in the University level strategic plan objective 3 Undergraduate Student Success. Approximately ¼ of the freshmen undergraduate student body begin their college careers living off-campus. Among this number is a higher proportion of first-generation college students, as compared to the larger cohort. We know that these students tend to be at risk due to the difficulty in making a meaningful connection to the campus culture and its available services to support academic success. This position will complement the work being done by the advising team in the Student Services Center and will work both with off-campus students and first-generation students. In addition to working in conjunction with colleagues in the Student Services Center, this position will collaborate with the Colleges, Financial Aid, Transformative Learning, and many other services and resources to assist in developing campus-wide programming and persistence techniques in advising. Services provided by this position are critical in aiding our retention and degree completion fates for off campus and first-generation students.
