RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the direction of the Grounds Maintenance Supervisor, plan and coordinate the work of student workers during weekends and assigned shifts; perform complex grounds maintenance work, including , inter-campus/high profile planting, pruning and pesticide application and maintenance; assure pest, weed and disease control through application of pesticides and herbicides.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school supplemented by course work in ornamental horticulture, landscaping or related field and five years ornamental horticulture experience.

LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of or eligibility to obtain a California Qualified Applicator's Certificate within the first year of employment.

SALARY & BENEFITS: R. 15, Step 1-6, $3,369.00-$4,098.00 per month. Initial placement for external applicants is Step 1. An excellent benefits package which includes medical, vision, dental, retirement, vacation, generous sick leave package, and life insurance is available for the employee and eligible dependents.

WORKING DAYS & HOURS:
Monday-Friday: 6:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m. (Approximately). Work schedule may be adjusted to meet the needs of the office and additional evening and weekend hours may be required.

STARTING DATE: As soon as the successful candidate is identified and following the subsequent governing board approval.
