Degree and Area of Specialization:
Minimum of bachelor's degree in chemistry, engineering, or related discipline is required. A Ph.D. is preferred.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Experience in RF electronics or MR spectroscopy is required.
License or certificate:
The Spectroscopist plays an important role in advancing the state-of-the-art capabilities of the magnetic resonance facility in the Department of Chemistry, which supports critical research and instructional efforts. In close collaboration with faculty and staff, the incumbent will provide equipment user training and oversight, perform spectroscopy service work, and maintain facility equipment. This position reports to the NMR Director.
The Spectroscopist will work in a team environment with the NMR Director and Assistant NMR Director and with staff in the Chemistry Instrument Center, Computer Center, Electronics Shop, Machine Shop, and Glassblowing Shop.

An applicant may be hired in to the Associate Instrumentation Technologist, Instrumentation Technologist, or Senior Instrumentation Technologist title dependent upon experience. Title will be determined upon hire.
