The Marcus Center for Cellular Cures (MC3) https://marcuscenter.duke.edu/ has an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to fill a Clinical Research Specialist Sr. position. The position is located at 2400 Pratt Street, Durham, N.C.

OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY:

Perform complex and confidential administrative duties in support of major program activities to maintain efficiency in organizational operations. This individual will work in the Carolinas Cord Blood Bank (CCBB) and Robertson Clinical and Translational Cell Therapy Program (CT2). This individual will be an integral member of a team of physicians, nurses, collection specialists, research technicians, and other professionals providing cord blood collection, processing, and banking services for the CCBB.

WORK PERFORMED:

- Perform second review of cord blood units' files prior to Medical Director sign-off. Review documentation for data entry errors, medical history discrepancies and completion of all necessary paperwork. Troubleshoot errors as needed,

- Cover the Program Coordinator's absences, organizing the shipments of cord blood units, release of samples, and confirmatory typing requests from the NMDP, utilizing CordSource and other necessary programs.

- Assist with Qualification Management of cord blood units post listing in NMDP registry. Identify issues and address as appropriate to allow for final listing of units.

- Provide support to operational projects of the CT2 program, included but not limited to areas such as logistics, supplies, communications or finance.

- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
